  • Social security registration (RETA)

Registration in the self-employed scheme, choice of contribution base according to expected income and the reduced flat rate if you qualify.

  • Getting started

Guidance on the town hall activity licence, capitalising unemployment benefit and grants for new self-employed workers.

  • Deregistration

Leaving the RETA and the tax census, with the final VAT and income tax returns, and the self-employed unemployment benefit if you qualify.

How contributions work

Since 2023, self-employed contributions in Spain depend on each year’s net income. We choose a base that matches your forecast and review it during the year to avoid surprises when it is settled.
